Tweet, tweet

I gave myself the weekend, and then some, to see if I changed my mind about the whole Twitter issue. Still not interested. Fine, it could be fun for a second but I don't think I have the patience or the free time or that I really care THAT much what anyone is doing at any one solitary moment of the day...to get into it. And I'm not quite sure how it would be super relevant in a library setting - maybe I'm just not seeing it, but this is what I'm going to go with for now. Call me old fashioned - but I'm going to stick with Facebook. :)

The Creation of Dogs and Chinese Food

Creating this blog was easy. Thank goodness. :) I wasn't sure how easy it would be, but it was definitely okay and I'm glad I did it. And I can even go as far as to admit that it was kind of....fun. I think the idea of blogging didn't really appeal to me until I'd run across a few blogs inadvertantly and was immediately sucked in . It's interesting and fun, and in a library sense - could be quite useful. I think libraries could use this sort of a format for book/movie reviews, upcoming, book club and hot items, and even showing updated information on new/popular item availability. I'm sure there are many different ways we could use a blog to benefit our library, we'll just have to wait around and see what works.

Easiest vs. Hardest

I think the hardest of the 7 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners is Habit 3 - View Problems as Challenges. Personally, I think this is the hardest for me because I tend to view problems as just that - a problem. Something I don't want to deal with, a mess, just one more thing to screw up my day. I swear, I'm not a pessimist. :) The easiest of the habits would probably have to be Habit 1 - Begin with the End in Mind. I say this only because generally the only way I can get through the habit that is hardest for me (View Problems as Challenges) is by imaging how much better/easier/more rewarding it's going to be down the road when the problem is no longer a problem. I have a fear of learning new things, I always think I'm not going to get it or it's going to take me so much longer than normal to pick it up....or just that I'll never understand, but I'm going into this not only with the end result in mind, but also viewing this as the newest challenge in my rapidly evolving life. Bring on the challenge.

Well....here it is.

So, dogs and chinese food....let me explain. These are two of my very favorite things, and very honestly (and very sadly!) two of the first things that came to my mind when thinking of a name for my blog. I have 3 dogs - crazy, I know - that I'm perfectly in love with: Zadie, Scooter and Trigger. And I love Chinese food. And Mexican food, junk food, carbs - pretty much all food. But Chinese is way up there on the list. :)
